I invited into our home a woman I witnessed to so she could view one of our ministry’s teachings. The plan was to then register her for the Power for Abundant Living Today class.
I prayed before she arrived, “God, I expect her to register, but I want more than that. Show me something Ephesians 3:20-style!” During the teaching she showed no response and at times got fidgety. The lack of response could have been perceived in a negative light. But I continued to claim Ephesians 3:20.
After the teaching, she was silent. I was silent…wait for it…then she opened up with feedback that was beyond my expectations—all from a woman who is typically on the quiet side. I no sooner began to read the benefits listed on the class registration card, when she grabbed it from my hands, reached for the pen, and signed it.
God confirmed with me that I can get bolder with my requests of Him. I’d like to think that on that day, I actually saw Him smile and say, “OK, kiddo, you’re getting this figured out.” I see more and more that I can’t put God in a box and predetermine how He is going to be able to work in someone’s heart. That’s HIS job, not mine. I just keep myself available to point them in the right direction.
