Our Hearts Glow with Gratitude to Our Awesome God

With God’s help, I found the woman that I married. My search for a wife took longer than I expected it would. God kept my heart encouraged during my years as a single man, especially by way of His written Word and the encouraging words and attitudes of fellow Christian believers here in The Way Ministry.

Two verses that I held fast to in my heart while searching for a wife are Psalm 1:3 and I Corinthians 15:58. Psalm 1:3 reads, “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” This verse reminded me that God would prosper His Word in my life as I delighted in and focused on it faithfully. I Corinthians 15:58 declares, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” This assured me that I could make a good impact for God by serving Him. I remembered and believed this verse regarding serving in the ministry while I was a single man. I had the joy of serving in our ministry’s outreach program twice, serving on Staff at The Way International Headquarters, and in The Way Corps leadership training also. As I kept God’s Word in mind and acted on it, God kept blessing my life with good health, encouragement, prosperity, learning, and growth.

By the time I ended up meeting the woman I married, some friends in the ministry had already mentioned her to me and had godly things to say about her. She and I talked a lot to begin to really get to know each other. We shared with, laughed with, asked questions of, listened to, flirted with, built up, and forgave each other as needed. By way of the strong and pure doctrine of God’s Word and the faithful men and women of The Way International who teach it and live it, God prepared me to love and lead my wife and live well with her.

Without this ministry, it is unlikely that my wife and I would have even met. Now we serve and lead in the ministry, we grow in God’s Word, and we work to make it known. Our hearts glow with gratitude to our awesome God for the faithful ones who have gone before us and for the joy of serving in the ministry.
