Way Ambassadors Put God First—He Provides Their Need

As Ambassadors of the Way in our country, we saw God working mightily so that things would work for our good, as Romans 8:28 says.

It was a normal day, and we were going out to teach the Word. I remember that on that day we walked a lot. It was the beginning of the Way Ambassador program and we were looking for new people who were thirsty and hungry for the Word. We walked down several streets of our neighborhood with the intention of proclaiming God’s Word and introducing ourselves. But when we crossed one street to get to the next one, we passed by a market stall, or stand, where they sold clothes. There was a young man who called out to us saying, “I want you to teach me the Word.” Wow! My witnessing partner and I were amazed and perplexed. We wondered how the young man knew we were teaching God’s Word. We didn’t have anything written on our foreheads to show that we were teaching the Word, we were dressed normally, we didn’t have Bibles in our hands, but we realized that something had happened at that moment, which to the physical eye was difficult to explain. Then he invited us to come closer, gave us seats, and even offered us something to eat. With this we realized that it was God providing for our need, because we really needed to rest, and it was opportune for us to take advantage of the time and talk about the Word with him. It was too good!

A similar situation happened with a young woman that we were following up with. In the second contact we had with her, she prepared something for us to eat, and it was just on a day when we left the house without eating anything, but God once again showed us that when we put Him and His Word first, the rest of the things are added to us (Matthew 6:33). The example we have is of the apostles who, when they went to preach the Word, were instructed by Jesus not to take extra things, only the essentials, because everything they needed they found wherever they went to preach the Word (Mark 6:8 and Luke 10:1-8).
