I Made the Choice to Be a Lifetime Student of God’s Word

I had a nice job right out of college and I was better than average among my peers, but I was far from indispensable.

Shortly after taking The Way Ministry’s Foundational Class, I was standing among a group of technical experts and all of them were shying away from an ongoing problem that was considered impossible to fix. I offered to look at the problem, and I was even willing initially to work on the issue on my own time in the evening. My offer was met with most of the people either giving me smirks or shaking their heads as if I did not know what I was getting into. Besides, I was the least-experienced person in the room.

With my newly acquired superconqueror attitude from the class, I was unfazed.

I was inspired to utilize the three ways God’s Word interprets itself to attempt to resolve this long-standing problem. The Way Ministry taught me that the Bible interprets itself right where it is written, in its context, or where it has been used before.

From that perspective, I approached the problem with:

  • Do I really understand what is happening right where the problem seems to occur or where the main logic is written?
  • Am I assuming something that the context tells me otherwise?
  • Do I know everywhere the problem values have been used before?
  • Are variables being redefined or are supposed constants used differently elsewhere?
  • Is the logic in harmony throughout, or is there logic one place that contradicts the logic in another instance?

I found that exact scenarios, that should be handled in a single routine, were handled multiple places and in slightly different ways. Inconsistencies made the logic very difficult for most people to follow, but God inspired me to diagram everything out in new ways. In about two weeks’ time, I resolved a major problem that troubled this Fortune 100 company for several years.

In multiple large cities on both sides of the United States, I became known as the person who can fix issues that everyone else has given up on. With the peace of God in my heart and the logic of the Word in my mind, I approach unsolvable problems with an “I Can Do” attitude.

I made the choice to be a lifetime student of God’s Word in this ministry. I can keep growing in my application of God’s Word and learn to live God’s Word even better throughout my entire life. Even though decades have passed since I first took the Foundational Class, my strength is renewed like the eagles’, and I still love the challenge of the seemingly unsolvable task!

Isaiah 40:30,31:
Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
