God Promises Protection

The greatness of God’s Word that I have learned has taught me that when I abundantly share of my time, talents, and finances, I can claim God’s promise that He will rebuke the devourer for my sake.

Our family was excited to be going to New York City for our vacation. We had our schedule to visit some of the special sights like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Coney Island, NBC Studios, Central Park, and the American Museum of Natural History.

It was our first day in the city, and we started our time there by walking in Central Park and then spent the rest of the day in the Museum of Natural History. We were all tired from walking all day, so we decided to head home. We arrived at the train station, which was packed with commuters, bought our train tickets, and boarded our cool and comfortable train.

For this vacation, I was given the responsibility of carrying our trip necessities—the schedule, tickets, cash, credit cards, cell phone, and GPS. I had them in a bag I carried. When we boarded the train, my youngest son sat next to me and, being very tired, placed his head on my lap to rest before our departure. In the meantime, I placed the bag next to him on the seat so it would not be in his way.

After sitting there for a few minutes, my husband realized that we were on the wrong train and needed to get off immediately. We grabbed our tickets, the children, and our belongings and rushed off the train and up to the main concourse to check the monitors to find the right train. While looking at the monitor, my mouth dropped open and I said, “Oh no!” I realized that I did not have my bag. I had left it on the seat of the nonstop train heading for Trenton, New Jersey.

My husband and I left the children with my mother-in-law and ran as fast as we could down to the train platform that we had just left. I arrived at the train door just as it slowly closed right in front of me. I looked through the glass window on the door, and standing there was a man holding my bag, mouthing the words, “Is this yours?” I said, “Yes!” as the train started to leave the station. I started to cry, realizing I had just lost our entire vacation plan and finances.

A conductor from a previous train saw me and asked my husband and me what had happened. After we told him the details, he took us directly to the train station service office. My husband and I told the staff what had happened, and they immediately started to go to work to get my bag back. They told us they were working on it and to come back in an hour.

We stepped out of that office and found a quiet place to pray. We thanked God for covering the mistake and for us to regain our belongings without even one nickel missing from our things. I had to make sure I was not condemning myself for leaving the bag, and we both spoke the positives of God’s Word to one another. We reminded each other that we are faithful to abundantly share and because we do, God promises protection for our lives and belongings.

We went back to the train station service office and while there, the man who had my bag used my cell phone to call the first number listed in my phone, which was for our roommate. She immediately called us on my husband’s phone telling us that the man who had my bag wants to arrange how he can return it. At that point the train station service staff talked to him and told him to give it to the train conductor. He did so, but we were told that the current train conductor was not coming back to the city, so he was going to give the bag to the new train conductor. That conductor was asked to bring it back with him when he returned to the city from New Jersey, which was later that same evening.

The bag ended up being passed off to at least four people, total strangers, from Penn Station in New York City to Trenton, New Jersey, and back. Needless to say, the bag and all of its contents were returned to us without even a nickel missing. We thanked the man profusely that found it and told him we knew God would bless him abundantly for helping us. All along the way, from the man who found the bag and our roommate to the train station service staff and the train conductors, we saw God’s mighty hand working in this situation to bless us and protect our vacation and belongings! We’re so thankful for the power of the Word we can claim in every situation.

God Is So Wonderful and Powerful

I am very thankful to our heavenly Father for the wonderful transformation that He has made in my life and how this great ministry of Biblical research has helped me to understand and apply the greatness of the rightly divided Word of God.

Several years ago began a new stage that marked my life. My life at university began. I did not know anyone and had a well-defined personality. I was a very shy, insecure teenager, full of fears, dressed in black, and pretty much serious. (It was my defense mechanism.)

I remember that the first month of classes, I had to do a presentation. It was a catastrophic experience, since I was not able to speak in public. By the way, I was studying to be a teacher. That year was very complicated until I started attending a home fellowship. There, I received all the tenderness and support I needed. Then, two years later, I sat in the foundational class on The Way of Abundance and Power, and one of the things that most impacted my heart was to understand that fear did not come from God, that He loved me so much that I could free myself from all those mental prisons.

Then I was exhorted to prepare teachings and share them to strengthen myself in that area. Every time I had to do public speaking, I said to myself again and again, you can do all things through Christ which strengthens thee…so go and do it!

As I dared to look people in the eyes and smile, my grades improved. I changed my wardrobe. My mother was so shocked with that change, she told me, “Child, you are someone else, and I would like to attend the home fellowship since I have seen how God has changed your life.”

As I grew in my understanding of God’s heart, my desire to serve grew too. On one occasion my home fellowship coordinator asked me if I would like to coordinate a home fellowship, and I felt great joy, but I had a large debt of university credit.

Then I took the Intermediate Class and had the privilege of sharing with believers who helped me to make an action plan to get free from that debt. In addition, I started envisioning myself taking the Advanced Class. Every day I got up, I looked at some pictures I have of The Way International Headquarters, and I thanked God for getting me there. The moment I made up my mind and started to act, God began to open the floodgates of heaven to bless my life. My salary increased and the university debt was completely paid in eight months. Four months later, God called me to serve as a home fellowship coordinator, and after that I went to the Advanced Class.

God is so wonderful and powerful to do all things exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think.

When Believers Pray Together, Great Power Is Exerted

Before coming to this ministry, I had no power to overcome any of the many challenges I faced. That all changed when I took the Foundational Class. For the first time in my life, I saw the amazing power that is manifested when believers pray together.

When I took the Foundational Class, I was stationed aboard a U.S. Coast Guard ship. The work schedules for myself and another sailor taking the class gave us just enough time to complete the class before our ship went out for another deployment. I had just finished my shift in the kitchen and was preparing to go to the fifth session of the class when an announcement was made over the ship’s speaker system. The ship’s wheel had been stolen, and all sailors were confined to the ship until it was returned. The ship’s wheel was located on the bridge of the ship and was used for steering the vessel. This particular ship’s wheel was beautifully crafted of walnut, with brass fittings to give it added strength, and apparently, someone had claimed it as a trophy!

My heart sank! I began to think that my opportunity to complete the Foundational Class before I set sail again was gone. Then I remembered the many local believers who were supporting us during the running of the class. With a bit of anxiety, I called one of the believers in the fellowship I was attending and told him the situation. After we prayed together, he spoke God’s Word to me. He reminded me that God wanted me to take this class, that the adversary was trying to hinder me from finishing it, and that when believers pray together, great power is exerted to overcome the attacks of the adversary. Then he reminded me of James 5:16, which was a verse he had shared with me several times before.

James 5:16:
…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The local believer told me he would have all the believers praying for our situation, and that we (the other sailor and I) should pray about it too. We agreed that the two of us aboard the ship should keep getting ready for class as though this obstacle was not there. I was greatly encouraged and told the other sailor we should stick to our normal routine, clean up and change our clothes, as though we were going straight to the class.

I had just finished cleaning up and getting changed when the announcement came across the ship’s speaker system: liberty was granted for everyone who was not working. We were free to go! I was amazed! When I asked what had happened, I learned that while I was getting cleaned up, a car had pulled into the parking lot, the back door was thrown open, and someone inside the car had hurled the ship’s wheel into a snow bank. The door closed, and the car sped away. The officer on duty retrieved the ship’s wheel, and the restriction was immediately lifted.

The other sailor and I quickly made our way across town to the class location. As we approached the door of the house, we could hear the believers inside singing songs from the Sing Along The Way songbook. We smiled and opened the door. A great cheer went up from all the believers as they welcomed us to class. We all rejoiced at how God had answered our prayers. The lesson has been firmly rooted in my mind from that day unto this present day: when believers pray together, great power is exerted to overcome the attacks of the adversary.

I Saw God’s Magnificent Power Protect Me as I Believed

I served in the United States Army for ten years, five of which were spent as an Army Special Forces operator. During my military service, I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan four times. Each time I deployed, I saw God’s magnificent power protect me from harm as I faithfully stood for Him and believed to be victorious. I have driven over improvised explosive devices (IED) and they did not go off; I’ve had rockets land near me and not go off; I have had ammunition rounds land within an arm’s reach and not touch me; and I’ve been in situations where we were outnumbered and outgunned and everyone on my team walked away without a scratch.

One of the most tremendous incidents I experienced happened during my third deployment overseas. My team went on a mission that took place over the course of three days. Problems arose during the first two days that extended our timeline and put us in an area that we were not supposed to be operating in. On the second night, we found a nice hilltop overlooking a village, and our explosive ordnance disposal technicians (EOD) began to clear the hilltop to make sure there were no booby traps, mines, or any improvised explosives. After our EOD gave us the green light to occupy the hill, we set up our security perimeter, set up a guard roster, and stayed for the night.

When daylight hit, my team began to form a course of action to get us back to our base. It was then decided that one of our Afghan trucks would drive back the way we came to determine if there were any passable routes out of the valley we found ourselves in. When the truck took off down the hill, the rear tire popped. What was thought to be a possible flat tire turned out to be the detonation of a blasting cap on an enemy improvised explosive device (IED). This blasting cap was connected to 120 pounds of homemade explosives and was rigged in a way that was undetectable by our mine-detecting equipment. After analyzing the explosive, our EOD technicians reported that the chemicals in the device had gone bad, which is why it didn’t go off. Had the IED gone off properly, I and six other teammates (who happened to be standing ten meters away) would have been killed instantly. Out of twenty-three Americans on this mission, everyone would have been killed or wounded except for three. Talk about God protecting His own!

What an honor it is to be able to claim this victory! What a privilege it is to be able to know that our Father is always protecting us and is ready to answer our prayers! And what a great pleasure it is to share such an experience with the household so that I get the opportunity to build the believing of those around me! To God be the glory!

The Simplicity of the Word Is Powerful

We Can Apply God’s Word and Share It with Others

One aspect of my life that I have been working and believing God for is to have the Word in my heart and mind so that I can seek for opportunities to share it with someone. A few months back, one of my coworkers had a health situation. The doctor told her to go to the specialist to have further testing to make sure that she was not developing a disease that the doctor suspected because of her symptoms. She came to me and said that she was not going to get the tests done because she thought she was fine. Then she asked me what would I do if I were in her situation. I said I would “let the peace of God rule” in my heart. She asked me what that meant, and so I went on to explain it to her. After we finished talking, she called the specialist and made the appointment for testing. She went to her appointment, and the specialist told her that she had come to him just in time, so that her condition was still reversible. She got the treatment that she needed. The next day, she came with tears in her eyes and thanked me for the Word that I had shared with her.

I thank God for The Way Ministry that teaches God’s Word rightly divided so that we can apply it and share it with others.

Proverbs 25:11:
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

We Can Rely on God and His Strength and Power

I am incredibly grateful for the Word that I have hidden in my heart, that I have been taught to understand and apply through The Way International and its many teachings and resources. The Word has brought strength and power to my life and has helped me overcome and be victorious through challenging times.

A few years ago, while my husband was out of town, I found a lump on my eight-year-old son’s neck. I prayed about it, confessed that nothing was too hard for God, read the Bible with my children, and that night I slept peacefully. I knew that regardless of my husband not being there with me, that with God on my side and the body of believers, I would be strong enough to take care of and believe for my son’s healing. Over the next week, we had many tests done and were given one diagnosis that required surgery and medication for the rest of his life. We continued to claim that there is nothing too hard for God and had a second opinion done with more tests. In the end, the lump wasn’t anything serious, and nothing had to be done with it.

I have learned that the simplicity of the Word is powerful. I have learned that we are strong enough to handle anything that life throws our way because we know that we can rely on God and His strength and power.

Fulfilling Marriages with God’s Word

I Have Not Been Disappointed in My Expectations

By consistently applying God’s Word that I have learned regarding marriage and family, God has provided the keys and tools needed to build a marriage relationship that is both fulfilling and enduring, one that before learning the Word, I had not thought was possible. I’m blessed to say that after more than thirty years, God has been faithful, and I have not been disappointed in my expectations.

Romans 10:11 [The Amplified Bible (1987)]:
The Scripture says, No man who believes in Him [who adheres to, relies on, and trusts in Him] will [ever] be put to shame or be disappointed.

Very Blessed and Standing Strong with Each Other

One huge blessing in my life is that my husband and I have celebrated over forty-five years of marriage!—quite an accomplishment in today’s society.

We took the Foundational Class, became fellowship coordinators, and got married within the first six months of coming to this ministry. We honeymooned in Michigan at a Way Family Camp. The theme of the camp was the Christian family, presented live by Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille. Talk about jumping into something with both feet!

One thing we learned at the camp was that in marriage, it’s not as important who’s right, but what’s right—God’s Word of course. We also learned that our marriage was a micro example and illustration of how God’s family is to work together. This info went straight to our hearts and lodged there. Through the years, we clung to this learning in times of intense changes and conflicts in our marriage. We had made a commitment to God to keep our marriage strong so we wouldn’t introduce weakness in our example to others of how God’s family lives together and stays together. I am so thankful to have had these principles to guide us. And now here we are—very blessed and standing strong with each other over forty-five years later in this fabulous family of God in The Way Ministry.

I Am Not Going to Hell

When I was around four or five years old, I was told by an authoritative figure that if I broke one of the ten commandments one time that I would go to hell. I realized that I had broken more than one of them, and some of them more than once. Then within two months of hearing this, my family of seven, of which I was the youngest, went to our city’s museum of art. As we walked through and saw all the pictures hanging at various heights on the walls, I came to a picture that was at my eye level (I was the shortest of our group), which was an artist’s rendition of hell. I cannot tell you what that did to me. That picture of my possible end stuck in my mind for a long time.

By the end of my freshman year in college, I was still wrestling mentally about whether there was a God or there wasn’t. It couldn’t be both. If there was no God, then all there was in life was a miserable existence for about seventy-two years, then a hole in the ground. I then said to myself, “Well, why postpone the inevitable? Why not just bypass all the crap and just get right to it?” After briefly considering that, I said to myself that maybe there is a God. If there is a God, then He had to be smarter than me, and He would have to make Himself, along with His will for my life, known to me. I couldn’t figure it out by or for myself. I needed His help if He did exist.

The summer after my freshman year didn’t get any better. I was still unsure about God and my future. Then I visited my sister and her family for one week before I went back to college. She and her husband witnessed to me and led me into speaking in tongues the night before I was to go back home and then back to college. Saturday morning, my brother-in-law left to go to a fellowship coordinator meeting for the state. An hour later, I left to go back home. Sunday, I went back to college.

On Monday, I went to the Student Union to buy my books, and on the way back to my dorm room, I stopped at a tent that had booths from different churches and religions. I knew about The Way Ministry because of my sister, and I had been to ministry events like the Rock of Ages, so I went through that tent to see if the ministry had a booth set up there. Well, I walked the length of that tent and nothing. I knew I could call Headquarters or The Way in my state to find out about a local fellowship, but I wanted God to prove to me that The Way International was where I needed to go. I was definitely seeking a sign from God.

I got back to my dorm room and there was a note on my door to call this individual. I didn’t know them, but I called them and said, “Hi, I had a note on my door to call you. Why do you want me to call you?”

He answered, “I heard you want to go to fellowship.” I couldn’t believe it, because not even my mom knew I wanted to. I asked him how he knew. He told me he was from the same city my sister lived in and that he heard about the meeting for all the fellowship coordinators in the state, which was in the same city. He wasn’t a fellowship coordinator, but he wanted to be one, so he decided to go to this meeting without being invited, and he “just happened” to sit next to my brother-in-law!

Well, I was at fellowship that night! When they talked to me about taking the Foundational Class, they showed me a green card. On the back of this card were listed several benefits of the class. I went through that list, which included health and prosperity, but the one benefit that caught my attention and the only one I really wanted was, “Makes life meaningful.” If this class could do that, then my prayers were answered.

When I sat through that class, it was an audio class with flip charts. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I learned that I was born again of God’s spirit and that I would spend eternity with God, His Son Jesus Christ, and all other believers. I was not going to burn for eternity in hell! What joy that brought to my heart!

I can only speculate concerning what I would have done had I not gotten involved with The Way International. I honestly believe that I would not be alive today if it were not for the ministry of Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille, which taught me how to rightly divide God’s Word and how to practically apply God’s Word in my life. I am not going to hell—I am going to “ever be with the Lord.”

Trusting God and Claiming His Promises Yield Powerful Results

The Word has meant a lot to me over the years as I reflect on the two missions my father gave me when traveling to America for the first time. He said (1) get the best education that the world can offer, and (2) find out how to be born again.

By applying the principles taught in this ministry, I was able to complete a bachelor’s, master’s, MBA, and PhD without student loans and debt-free. I saw signs, miracles, and wonders along the way. God always met the needs.

Regarding how to be born again, it was six o’clock in the morning at the university I was attending. I was first in line to go to the student cafeteria to have breakfast. A student who was in my chemistry class saw me and asked me to go with her upstairs for a fifteen-minute Bible fellowship. I told her no thank you. She insisted and she was bold. So I went with her.

What I saw and heard in that fellowship changed my life. I heard them speak in tongues. I continued to attend that fellowship. They told me how to be born again (Romans 10:9,10).

I took the Foundational Class in Ohio, and then the Intermediate Class. I was excited about the classes. Dr. Wierwille called me to his office at Headquarters and said, “Why don’t you go home to your country this summer and tell your parents, family, and friends what you are learning in these classes?”

I went home to my country in the summer, and the first person I met at the airport was my father. I told my father, “Daddy, I found out how to be born again.” He said, “Did you? What work did you have to do?” I said, “No work.” I told him about Romans 10:9 and 10. He said, “It can’t be that simple!”

That summer I told my parents, brothers and sisters, relatives, and friends about the Word I learned in those two classes. Some believed and wanted to hear more.

I came back to the United States, and every Sunday I attended the Sunday Teaching Service. I summarized the teachings, and every week I sent them to my country. My relatives got together and read the letters. I did that faithfully every week for five years.

I got thirty-one students interested in taking the Foundational Class—twenty-eight were my relatives, and three were my friends. They registered for the class. Dr. Wierwille sent us to run the first Foundational Class in French in the world.

Those graduates and those that followed took the Word to several countries in Africa and Europe, as well as other countries.

How does the Biblical research and teaching of God’s Word continue to live in my life? I have seen and continue to see that trusting God and claiming His promises yield powerful results. All things work together for good. The Word works. God can be relied upon no matter the situation.

God’s Word Is Powerful for Those Who Believe

A joyful journey started about nineteen years ago, when my childhood best friend presented to me The Way Ministry. It was 1998 when she came across my path after several years of us not seeing each other. We both were medical doctors, so we met at a place where doctors go to get some services, and one of the most popular ones was getting a loan. I was there for that reason, because as many others, I was struggling with financial issues. After the correspondent greetings, she asked me, “Why are you here?” And with a bold face I responded, “I am requesting a loan.”

She mentioned the countless benefits and financial liberty she has had just by believing and applying God’s Word. It was mind-blowing. I could not believe that. (In my childhood, I was an avid reader of the Bible, and I enjoyed reading the Gospels, but I would never think the Bible and God had to do with living debt-free or any other financial issue.)

She continued, “I am in a ministry where you learn how to pray, you learn how to have a relationship with God, how to get anything from God, and how we can live without debts.” I was shocked, and at the same time I was skeptical. She quickly invited me to come to fellowship to show me what she was talking about. I did not attend right away because I had three young kids, and it was not easy to travel from my city to the capital of my country on public transportation. She did not give up, until one Sunday when I accepted her invitation, and we all went together to fellowship—she with her two daughters and I with my three kids. I cannot recall what was taught that day, but I do remember that what the teacher said made a big impression in my heart and mind. After that, there were many other invitations, but it was a wrestling match between my discouragement and her constant and outstanding encouragement to come back. One day I decided to go, and since then I faithfully attend fellowship three days a week, against opposition, issues with transportation, dangers on the road, hurricanes, and so on. They never diminished my desire to be where the Word was taught. My friend’s continuous encouragement and support strengthened me to the end that we prevailed during all the challenges we faced. Her faithfulness and my leadership who were there for me all the time showed me we are one Body of Christ. I was born again of the holy spirit, and I learned I am God’s daughter and neither anything nor anyone can take away that right from me. I have learned to talk to God anytime, anywhere, and that He is always there for me and for my beloved ones. I have learned that I am an ambassador for Christ and I am a fellow heir with him. And countless is the list of benefits I know I have for being a child of God. During that process of learning and applying God’s Word in my life, I got debt-free and acquired a car that was an answer to our prayers. I was able to manifest God’s power by praying every time I was about to perform any surgical procedure with our patients and with the surgical team. These and many other victories came to my life and other people’s lives through the knowledge and practical application of God’s Word which I have learned.

Ephesians 3:20 [The Amplified Bible (1987)]:
Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].

I Decided to Trust God in the Situation

My father was a Baptist, and I was growing up as Roman Catholic because of the school I attended. When I first took my Foundational Class in my country back in the eighties, I was still going to my Catholic church in the early morning rather than later, around 10:30, so I could go to the Branch meeting available in my area. I loved the class, but all my life I was a Catholic, and it was not easy for the change, because I had friends there and I could not leave them. But then came a time to repeat my class, and that was the changing moment in my life and my walk with God. The Word of God started making more sense to me, like how in the Book of Ephesians, chapter 1, verse 18 it says, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened….” I just stopped going to my morning Catholic Mass to make myself available for anything The Way Ministry made available at that time. We were encouraged to read more of the Word, and if we did so for only three months, we would not recognize ourselves. I did, and saw myself as a new person with a new perspective. The book I read the most was The Bible Tells Me So, chapters titled “Are You Limiting God?” and “The Synchronized Life.”

I have many incidents in my life with The Way Ministry, but I would share one where I trusted God instead of the reality of the world.

One day coming out of the grocery heading home, I noticed I had been missing my wallet for the past two hours. I checked everywhere in the house and went back to my car, but I couldn’t find it. Everybody in the house was in panic mode, telling me to call my banks and credit card companies. It was not the best option for me because I had IDs, and many required me to go stand in lines, so I decided not to go with my family’s option but to trust God in the situation. I told them, “Let’s believe God for the situation, and everything will be fine.” It sounded crazy, but our God is bigger than any challenges we may face in our life. Three days later, I received a call from the post office that they had something for me. First, I didn’t think about my wallet because there were no phone numbers in it. When I got there, the lady told me they had my wallet and explained to me how they got it. A lady found it in the parking lot of the store where I was shopping that day, put it in the envelope, and mailed it to them. I asked myself, “How did they find my home phone number?” But our God can work in people for us. Maybe they used the yellow pages and located my name and found my number. I got my wallet, I avoided DMV lines, and all my credit cards were there. God can and will do anything for us when we believe Him and trust His Word.

Recently something similar happened. While I was walking in the morning around 7:30, I stopped in the bank to deposit some checks and continued my walking. Forty minutes later, my wife asked where I was. I told her that I had been doing my walking. She told me that somebody brought my wallet home; he had found it at the bank. I didn’t even know that I had left it around the ATM machine, because the bank wasn’t open. Our God is so big that we can’t even imagine what He can do for us (Malachi 3:10,11).

Our God is wonderful; so is His Word.
